dr mario
I'm sick. I saw it coming too; completely wore myself out on the weekend and the following days up until today. So now my "m"s are "b"s, "s"s are "dz"s, and "l"s are silent. Showing here: I hab a cod. I'b dzick. et cetera.
It's not too bad a thing though, because I havent been sick for a while and school hasn't officially started yet (first class is next thursday). Sometimes its just nice to be sick, and grab some chicken noodle soup and curl up on the couch, watching the rainy weather, and enjoying the comfort only such a thing can provide. And then have it interrupted by the all too pleasant nasal substance blockages.
The new student orientation went reasonably well if anyone is interested.
<< uberfun p2 | Main | landscape of life >> 11:44 AM by RobAfter it was over, Sonja convinced me to call home and say I couldn't be on the youth worship team - after all, it was wednesday afternoon. So I did, and left a message at the church, and a bunch of us went over to her apartment to play some dr mario and eat some pizza. I am the scariest dr mario player any of them know, according to their comments. They enjoyed comparing my playing ability to the genius of russell crowe's character in A Beautiful Mind.... which is ok by me cause I love that movie. And russell crowe.
Sonja and her roomie had signed up at welcome wagon to have someone come to their apartment and introduce them to the community (they just moved to langely last week or so... but were living in maple ridge before, so it was more just to get free stuff than to learn about langely). The welcome woman talked to them for about half an hour, with numerous bathroom breaks by sonja so she could let out some of the laughter.... and in the end I think they got coupons for a free haircut, and some recipe cards. The rest of us just played more dr mario.
By the end of the night my eyes were completely glazed over. Blinking was painful, so I didn't do it. I got home and mom informed me that youngest and oldest sis's ended up finding cheap tickets to go see josh groban, and they got 2nd row seats. Everyone knows I'm heavily interested in josh, in the wow what an awesomely skilled and personable artist, way... and had wanted to go to the concert but didn't have the $$. This morning I woke up to find one of the big books from the concert on the table, along with a little sheet from william joseph who performed the opening act and is signed by his band members and himself. Make sure to check out the site (or sights).. the kid has skills. It was a nice thought AND action of the sisters - not something my family rarely does for me.
Now I feel special.
Then I remember my mom wants to go through my closet and dresser asap in preparation for moving down to my sis' bedroom. There goes the special feeling. Can't I just be sick and do nothing for one day? No. No I can't.
err.. I mean "Doh. Doh I kgad"
i hope u're feeling better
