lunar rest

How can it be 5 days since I last posted? The days just skip on by. It also helps when my time spent at home is used sleeping. Both Wednesday and Thursday I headed out to church right after work, before returning home around 9:30.

Wednesday was an enjoyable day thanks to the eclipse and beautiful weather. As I was boarding the bus home on Tuesday, the big, low moon grabbed my attention and held it the entire ride. I got to experience the same show on Wednesday, with the added bonus of the earth's shadow making its way across the distant surface. Later in the night, the sky seemed a shade of maroon, with the moon, bruised and dirty, sitting on the treetops. I wanted my camera, but such moments are often spoiled when attempts to capture them are made.

Tomorrow is Saturday. Saturday means I go to Victoria to visit the Eternal Egypt exhibit at the Royal BC Museum. The exhibit opened from July 10th, and closes in 2 days. I wanted to go before it opened. Then why haven't I gone yet? Such a trip takes planning; and people. The planning is covered. The people are not. Turns out I shall be venturing out on my own as my companions weren't able to get the time off. It's too bad, but it won't stop me from learning. Ancient Egypt has been of interest to me for as long as I can remember and this is the only stop in the pacific northwest (of both usa and canada).

My family thinks I should keep asking people until I find someone that can come. I think I will enjoy trying something new on my own (taking the ferry, heading over to the island, good times.)

The main downside to this whole venture is this: The last time I was able to sleep past 8:00am was last Saturday, (Oct. 23) and the next say I will be able to experience such a state of relaxation is next Saturday, (Nov. 6). I will also be working overtime Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Overtime in this context means 9am-10pm (add on getting ready, commute to/from, and you get a niiiice 16 or 17 hour day.

And now I try to make and print 100 invitations and tickets for a Christmas event my mom is planning; and have them done tonight. So this is what it's like to actually be busy.

Comments

You better have your tickets already. Generally speaking, the exhibit sells out a day or two in advance ever since it opened.
