deluge
It's the weekend already. I like how time goes by so much faster now that I'm in a neutral environment for the majority of every day. Without distinguishable daylight, there's no internal/environmental clock to deal with. Sitting at a desk for 8 to 12 hours a day makes each new day virtually indistinguishable from the last: By the time the weekend comes, one remarks, "really?"
For those of you who still use Internet Explorer, you would have noticed that a couple weeks ago I updated the site so it displays properly for you. I also fixed a little problem for Mozilla users. I'm nice like that.

Autumn seems to be passing, and it's making me wonder if I could change portions of the design to reflect the current wet, barren landscape. I don't think I will because it will most likely seem quite a bit more depressing with dark skeletons of trees and ponds with raindrops decorating the surface. Yea. Until winter comes, it stays like this.
I received my first direct deposit yesterday. My plan was to use it to pay back all of my student loan, as I had spent $800 of it on tuition, and along with the money I had in my account, this pay period bumped the total to somewhere over what I was given. Instead I went shopping with mom. It was her idea: She needed to get to the Sears Saturday sale before 10am. I didn't find anything at Sears. Instead, I finally purchased some real shoes. Not runners, not docker-boot type things. Nice, casual, browny-leathery shoes. 2 pairs. It's like I'm a shopper now or something. I also found a nice coat and sweater from Gap, but the coat needs time to gain momentum in my wallet before I get it, and the sweater is too small so it's going back. That's right. Something is too small on me.
I'm talking about shopping. Why am I talking about shopping? I guess it was just odd for me to go shopping with my mom. The only other times is when I'm with her and at least 2 out of 3 sisters - it makes "shopping" = "sitting around on benches outside of La Senza and Jacob, waiting to go home."
It's raining a lot today. It was reasonably sunny during the week, when I couldn't enjoy the daylight, but when the weekend comes it torrents. There are pools of water in all the yards in the city; one of the four-lane roads away from the mall had a lake so large it covered one and a half lanes, and the sidewalk (not too good for the restaurant that borders it, I'm sure). It's an interesting contrast to the bush in our front yard that is now half charred from juvenile Halloween night 'fun.'
Now it's time to print more invitations and create a couple more documents for the mom before doing what I have to do: which I won't do because I want to sit on the couch and watch all the mindless nothing that is on the tele. (why is the discovery channel all up in mechanics and car shows now? I want my science back!)
good call on the fall/winter dilema!
thank you for the internet explorer thing. yes, you are nice like that! :)
Posted by: Mackenzie at November 6, 2004 07:25 PMThings here in Montreal are not that much better. The trees are all getting bare, and there are standing puddles from all the rain. YUCK !!
I guess you need to claim some space as yours, and or Find, some quiet space, like in a corner of a really nice bookstore, i like those, i can disappear for hours alone with a book.
Discovery Sucks, you're right. Enough with the Monster "everything." I need some new stuff to watch.
This build it / male bonding programming is getting way too old already.
Keep it simple. Enjoy your life. Spend some time being good to yourself.
I'm sure your Winter template will be just as majestic as this one, i really like it.
Jeremy
you went shopping without me. you are no longer on the 'cool list'. you have been relocated to 'above average' on the 'quasi fun list'. this means you are JUST crazy and not absolutely insane!
