lush
A couple weeks ago a friend gave me a personal gift. Nothing dirty, come on. It was a bath bomb. A big hard ball of chemicals and sparkly stars.
Now, being raised in a house with 3 sisters, I knew what it was. I also knew that people don't really use them (at least no one in my house... they just sat around on shelves and waited for that "special day" that never came). But today. Today felt like the day to do it. One final project presentation out of the way, the next project not due until Monday night, so why not treat myself to a nice relaxing bathe in a pool of.. whatever that thing does to water.
<< sober | Main | crave >> 09:33 PM by RobI'm in the bathroom, I turn off the faucet, and I throw it in. oOOOOOooo the show starts. Fizzing and bubbling and sparkling purple clouds fill the water. Eventually it finished, leaving a creepily hot purple soup of a bath, smelling of a hint of lavender. Oh well, I guess that's what I should have been expecting. So in I jumped.
Here is where I close the curtain and enjoy my private bath. But when I'm all cleaned up and rinsed off, I drain the tub, clean it out, and head to my room. It is there that I notice the smell. The smell of that lavender swamp.. as if it's been embedded into my skin. No worries, it'll wear off soon, I tell myself. I get dressed and get comfortable with the computer.
Minutes pass, and I can't take it anymore. Sure, I like smelling sweet, but chemical lavender clinging to my skin isn't the sort of sweet I was hoping for. I grabbed the towel and massaged vigorously to eliminate the offending odor, then put on a layer of clothing that covered more skin.
Still, heading into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, I felt as though I should have been skipping along and tossing the stars as I did so. Oh, don't mind me, I'm just the lavender fairy.
Hours later, I'm still being tortured. My morning shower can't come soon enough.
i would have to re-shower. omg!

how are you doing?
Posted by: Db at November 30, 2007 01:26 PMI would've been sneezing. Anything too flowery or perfumey gets my nose going!
Posted by: Steve at November 30, 2007 01:59 PMfeeling much better now Db, thank you for asking.
And I have definitely learned my lesson. Bath bombs shall remain under 'bathroom decor'.
